Santa is just around the corner....

... I can almost hear his jingling bells :o).

Snow has gone for now, but may not be away for too long. I'm at the 'Oh who have I forgotten' stage, where panic sets in! At least I have 8 days (8 DAYS!!!) left to get the last bits n pieces.

I made my mum a bracelet for part of her Christmas, she can't wear metals as it breaks her out in a rash, but quite liked some glass bead bracelets I had made for myself. So I have made one for her and will pop it in with her pressie.

I needed something to put it in and found a wee gift bag template on Craft Stamper website.

This is the bag I made:
The stamp is by Ladybug Crafts Ink (Ruby). Isn't her Santa suit great! She is coloured with my Promarkers and glitzed up with glamour dust on all her fluffy bits (although they haven't photographed really well :o/ ). I added some tinsely ribbon round the top of the bag just to set it off.

I also added wee pearls to Ruby's coat for buttons and die cut some snowflakes, from blue card, with a cuttlebug die and covered them with glamour dust. There is a Christmas greeting of '...with love at Christmas Time' on the back with more die cut snowflakes.

I'd like to enter the above gift bag in the following challenges:

A little bit of sunshine through the snow!

Morning from a v.white West Coast of Scotland!

I dunno what everybody is moaning about - I love the stuff, all white and fluffy and irresistable. Dontcha just love putting your footprints in the newly fallen stuff??

Here's the 6 foot snowman outside my door, built by my eldest Robert (on the left) and the two kids from down the street. The outside cupboards were raided for arms and hence the two badminton rackets sticking out of the snowman. They had to get Billy (my hubby) to lift the body and head onto him as it was so heavy. Ross (3) isn't in the photo as he was far to busy in the snow to be bothered with all that photo-taking malarky.

Over at Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog this week they are using the colourwheel, and you have to choose the colour opposite your favourite colour to make a card! I looovveee BLUE (don't see the point in other colours - well other than to show off how nice blue is LOL). Therefore, I had to use ORANGE to make my card!! Not a colour I use very often I must admit, but I don't hate it. I did struggle a bit looking for orange stash, but then came across a Docrafts Goodiebag from a while ago that had the Capsule Collection inside - and it was all orangey and lemony - just perfect!

Here's my card with the ever so adorable Jack on it!

Doesn't look like he'll be so adored when the rightful owner of those flowers finds out though LOL.  The ribbon, brads and papers are all from the Capsule Collection.

Jack (who you can buy here - and for December get another stamp half price!) was coloured with my Promarkers and I added some ickle flowers I found in my stash to the image with little bits of bling in the middle of them to make it a wee bit more 3-D. I think they work really well.

The sentiment is from a free stamp set with the Docrafts magazine this month, and just suits this image to a T. I also added some more of the ickle flowers to balance things up a bit.

I'm quite chuffed with my orange card, and you never know I may use it more in the future.

Over at MAWTT this week they are looking for cards 'For Someone Special', and this card is just right soooo - I'd like to enter the above card in the following challenges:

Raven About Christmas!

Morning Bloggers!

I've been busy again with yet another Christmas Card. This little cutie from Sugar Nellie is called 'Raven'. She was one of my pur-chases at the SECC in October. I have been wanting to get her for a while now, isn't she just gorgeous!

The papers are from part of a set from QVC. The gold pearlescent card is from stash, I used some of it to back the papers and another piece I embossed with my Cuttlebug's Snowflake folder.

I used my Promarkers to colour Raven, added some glamourdust to her dress to give it a Christmas sparkle and then cut her out and mounted her on the embossed card with 3-D foam squares. The sentiment is from a little set from Studio G. The poinsettias are from stash, glittered with stickles.

The snowflakes were cut using a Cuttlebug Snowflakes die and covered in glamourdust.

That's her, I think I'm gonna make more of this card as I love her so much!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Naptime at 365 Cards

Hello

Just a quick post, with a quick card that I made for my dad for his birthday.

Over at 365 Cards this week one of the days is to make a card incorporating 'Naptime'. This card is just perfect for that challenge don't you think?
The stamped image and sentiments are from Papermania and the papers are from K & Co. Coloured with my Promarkers (the chair is the exact colour of my parent's lounge suite lol). He actually looks like my dad, and the quote is one of my dad's favourtie sayings :o).

I'd like to enter the card in the below challenge:

365 Cards - Imagine This: Naptime

That's all folks! Told you it was a quick one.

New Home

Hello lovely Crafting folk!

Over at Cupcake Craft Challenges this week the challenge is to make a House Warming card. I don't have any friends moving house at the moment, but these cards do always come in handy and I have made a few of the below card for just such an occasion.

The card is A6 and has been punched with my Martha Stewart punch down one edge. I have used Pepper and Friends paper (which I also punched with my MS punch. and I placed a strip of the paper inside the card (which you can see through the punched detail on the card itself. I then added a little peel off glittery borded down one edge. The New Home sentiment has been stamped freehand using some alphabet stamps in my stash.

The stamp is by Lavinia Stamps (aren't those wee houses sooo cute - I love their stamps) and is coloured with Promarkers, I then went over the whole image with some sparkly chalks and the image is a bit glittery, but you can't really see that from the photo. It was then mounted on some lilac scalloped edge card from Craftwork Cards.

Well - that's me wee card and I'd like to enter it in the challenge below:

Christmas is only 40 sleeps away!

How scary is that!

I have made some Christmas cards, but no where near all of them. Better get my skates on...

I have made the one below using a Kenny K digistamp. His characters are fabby, and I'm sure hubby will love this card! My mum has asked me to make my dad one also, just hope it doesn't give him a heart-attack.

Isn't she a sex kitten. I have coloured her with my Promarkers and added glamour dust to the white trims on her gloves hat and boots. The papers are from a set that I got from QVC many moons ago, and found in one of my craft drawers the other day, while digging out Christmas stash. Card is also from stash.

This is a wee close up of Xmas Hottie.

And this is a close up of the sentiment. I added glamour dust to the sentiment and put some glossy accents over 'Glisten' to make it stand out a little.

Off to make some more now (I hope). Ross was crafting with me this morning. I gave him my tool-taxi (which I don't really use) and he managed to get the glue stick stuck inside the glue holder (how did he do that - the mind boggles). Have been saved by The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for the moment, but that won't last, coz mummy's craft stuff is soooo much more interesting!

Anyhoo - I'd like to enter the above card in the following challenges:

Kenny K's Challenge # 19 - Sparkle and Spots
Sir Stampalot November Challenge - Christmas Traditions (a Santa suit is traditional - right?)
Bee Crafty Challenge 42 - Christmas 2
The Crafty Pad - Christmas Sparkle

Hope you all have a fun-filled day!

Party Girl!

Hello

I've been hibernating today, would have blown you away Mary Poppins style on the West Coast of Scotland.

It did give me a chance to make the following card though - so there is a plus to horrid weather :o)

The colours aren't as vibrant as they are IRL. The stamped image is Robyn from Ladybug Crafts Ink. She's having a wee rake through the dressing up box by the looks of things. She is coloured with Promarkers and I did a wee bit of layering on the image as I wanted to add a frilly underskirt with some organza ribbon that I got a while ago from The Ribbon Box at one of my trips to the SECC in Glasgow. The papers are Pretty Please Spring Papers from MME and card is from stash.

You can see the frilly underskirt better in this picture (or petticoat - for those of you who are wondering what I'm talking about). I used some pearly beads for her necklace and outlined the image with some pink peel-offs that I've had for yonks (I'm not a big peel-off fan, but they have their uses).

I also used the ribbon to trim the card as you can see from the above photos. The shoe brads are from Woodware. I punched the paper with my Martha Stewart punch and added some bling to the wee puched out circles, and also trimmed the bottom of the papers again with the pink peel-offs.

I'd like to enter the above card in the following challenges:

Lily of the Valley - Challenge and Blog Hop
Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog - Challenge 17 - Easel Card

Any comments are greatly appreciated :o)

Hop to it!

Hi there.

Just on for a few minutes to post my most recent card. It's a boys card. Probably meant for a little boy, but I think it will be going to my BIL. I usually make him a footy card as he's footy nuts, but I think this wee card will make a change.

Here it is:

The stamp is from Ladybug Crafts Ink - Little Jack chasing a Frog. This wee chap is soooo cute. He reminds me of my boys. Look at his wee cheeks, all puffed out from chasing the frog, do you think he'll catch it - who knows, but he'll be really tired after all that running and be in his bed early, good news for his mum LOL. The sentiment on the card was a Happy Birthday one, but I changed the 'A' in 'Happy' to an 'O'. Well, how could I resist?

I coloured Jack and the frog with my Promarkers and glossy accented the frog to make him look like, well, a frog! I also cut around the stamp to make it look like the frog is trying extra hard to get away by jumping out of the frame, and I also added 3-d squares to the frog part to make him stand out from the papers.

This wee frog that I have used for an embellishment is from my friend Pat over at Patsy May she has some great embellishments that you can use on cards and then iron them onto clothes afterwards (multi purpose embellishments!)

Part of the challenge that the above card is for had an option to decorate the inside of the card. I've never done this before and I must say it is very effective. This may become a permanent addition to my card making!

Okay - off to post it onto the challenge now at Ladybug Crafts Ink - First Ever Challenge . Why don't you pop on over and have a go. You'll have to be quick though coz the end date is tomorrow!

See ya later-gaters (as my 13 year old would say!)

A Cracker of a Christmas

Hello

Not been on for a few days. Was busy with Halloween and a wee jaunt to the SECC for the Craft Fair.

I won a wee stamp over on LadybugCrafts Ink and finished the card I was making with it last night. I wanted to upload then, but my camera decided that its batteries needed charging - so had to wait until this morning for pics!

Here it is in all its glory:

I love it, love it, love it, aren't they a sweet couple. I kinda based the colours on the ones my hubby and I would have worn when we were that age. Hence the reddish hair on Nikki and the Black on Ben (well - my hubby's hair used to be black, it's gone a bit silvery/grey now, and he says it's my fault flamin' cheek, dunno what he means!!!). The base card is a piece of A5 textured card folded in half and a cracker shape cut into it.  The paper on the top and bottom of the Cracker and on the label are a vellum from my stash that I've had for donkey's years - so don't have a clue where I got it.

I coloured Nikki and Ben with my Koh-I-Noors, with Promarkers for their skin and then cut them out so I could mount them on 3-d foam pads. I then used some glamour dust on Nikki's clothes, added a gem to her hat and I don't know if you can really see it, but I glossy accented Ben's hair so that it looked gelled (sp?).

The poinsettias are ones I have had for a couple of years, got them from my good friend Pat from Patsy May. I added some gold stickles to them to make them a bit sparkly.

The sentiment is under the label on the Cracker. In Glasgow (and other parts of Scotland) we refer to hooking up with someone as 'pulling' (as in when you've been out for a night out your friend might say 'so did you pull tonight then?'. I don't know if this applies to other parts of the globe - maybe so. Anyhoo, I used the wee sentiment here for a bit of fun! Designed and printed from my very own PC.

So that's my card - hope you like it, and any comments are much appreciated.

Off now to wrestle a 3 year old into a bath and maybe this afternoon I will get to play a bit more.

The Sugar Bowl Challenge 45 - Tiet's Sketch

Hello again

Another quick post with a card for the above challenge over at the sugar bowl. Don't know where my time goes these days!

The challenge was to use Tiet's Sketch to make your card. This is the sketch:

And this is the card I made for the challenge:

The stamp is a Gorjuss Girl 'Flower Girl'. A real Hippy-chick! I love those wee flowers in her hair! I think I will be giving this card to my sister for her birthday, coz the image reminds me of her when she was little.

I coloured her with my Promarkers and cut the little owl images from some pp to add a little bit of fun. The flowers are from my stash and have green brad centres.

I'd like to enter this card in the below challenge:

Back very soon with some more creations I hope, maybe one involving a snowball (going to see how it turns out first - oh and yes! a card one not the melting kind!)

What's comin' will come....

Hello again

Nothing for days - then two posts in the one!

Over at Bugaboo Stamps they have just released some HP inspired digistamps. They are great images for any magical themed cards you want to make. I am taking part in their 4 part (yes 4 part) blog hop!

The last part was to make a magical inspired item with one of the new digistamps. The card I have created below is with an image of The Gentle One (from Freebie Friday at Bugaboo Stamps). I love this image of a gentle giant!

Isn't he a great image? I love his doggy - it looks so cute hiding behind him.

The image is coloured with my Promarkers and the lamp and dog's nose have been glossy-accented. I wanted something for the light of the lamp and was struggling with it until I came across some little trasparent  mosaic tiles that I bought an age ago and never used. I think they look great and give the light some life about it (but I do admit I am biased).

The little owl is coloured with my Promarkers and I have added some googly eyes to cheer him up a bit!
The quote is one of the gentle giant's 'state the obvious' quotes that we love him for!

Well that's my card - and I'd like to enter it in the below challenge:

Catch The Bug Challenge - magic/fantasy-themed

Thanks once again for looking and any comments that you are so kind to leave.

Harley a Calendar!

Hello

Just a quick post to show you the calendar I made for my hubby. He's the proud owner of a Harley-Davidson motorbike (his pride and joy - picture of it in a previous post if you want a peek!).

Anyway, I thought I'd make him a calendar for his desk at work for next year, and what better to use than a bikey stamp!

The stamp is from Stamps Happen and is coloured with my Promarkers. The papers are from EK Success that I had left over from a Scrapbook that I made for Billy of our trip to Daytona Bike Week in 2006 (never throw anything out me - proper crafter!!!). The sentiment is from part of a set of digistamps from Totally Stampalicious, that I won on a wee blog challenge over on their blog!

I'm sure he'll like it, he's not getting it til New Year - or I may pop it in with his Christmas pressies.

Thanks for looking!

Keep It Simple - Thank You

Over at KIS this week they are looking for thank you cards, but like they say in their title - you have to Keep It Simple.

This is the card I have made for the challenge:

The card has been coloured with Tim Holtz Distressing Inks in Spiced Marmalade and Worn Lipstick. The triangle is made using post it notes and the same inks as before. The stamped image is by Penny Black and the sentiment is from a Marie Curie Cancer Care stamp set. The two little black bits of bling are from Kanban. That's it - very simple. I must admit I struggled not to add anything else - maybe just a wee swirly stamp, but I refrained!

Sugar Nellie's Sugar Bowl!

Hello again. Really enjoying my blog now that it's up and running properly!

This is a card I have made for my Nanna for her birthday, she will be 93 years young! She's not your typical old grannie, so hence the younger style card.

The stamp is a Sugar Nellie stamp - Sitting with Bear by Elisabeth Bell coloured with my Promarkers and the card shaded with chalks (it's sparkly although you can't see it in the picture).  The papers are from Wild Rose Studio (Milton & Co), card stock, flowers and brads from stash.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenge:

A Happy Ever After...

I'm back!

I had a wee bit of spare time on my hands so thought I would make a couple of challenge cards today. On doing this I have discovered that I really really NEED craft storage space!!! Although even once I have it I probably still won't be able to find what I want in my stash.

After much hunting I came across all the bits for the below wedding card, it could also be used for an anniversary card as the sentiment is quite generic (big word for a Sunday). I think I will be giving it to my mum and dad who will be 44 years married this year.

The stamped image is by Lily of the Valley and the sentiment is by Elzybell. The papers are Papermania ones that I have had for years - hence why I couldn't find them :o) The flowers are from stash and the pearls from Kaiser Scrapbook. The flower centre is a brad which was part of a huge scrapbook set from Costco, which I got for very little pennies :oD - love a bargain me!

I'd like to enter this challenge in:

Hallooooween!!!

Hello

Just a quicky post as I would like to enter the below card in Totally Stampalicious - Stampalicious Monday. I'm hoping it's not too late!!

The witch and caludron images and the Happy Halloween sentiments are by Totally Stampalicious and were a freebie on their blog for this challenge. The other images are stamps by Tanda Stamps. The paper is from stash. I stamped the web and the sentiment on acetate and attached it so that they look as though they are floating on the card.

Away to post it now for the challenge - back in a mo!!!

It's a Date!

I can't believe it. I just saw some selection boxes in Tesco! It's only September for Pete's sake!!

That also must mean that New Year is just around the corner too though sooooo.....calendars!!!

I was crafting at the weekend, and have only now had a chance to put the creations on here. I made 4 calendars to give to friends at work {well 1 is mine and 3 others are to give to friends}. I have another couple still to make, but am v.pleased with the results so far. Here they are....

The calendars are made from 6 x 6 cards, scored and folded to make the calendar base.

The first one is a Sugar Nellie stamp from Funky Kits I love this image of the girl with her cat {this one be my calendar}. The image is coloured with my Promarkers, mounted onto lilac cardstock. I have added some Forever Friends backing paper to the card and mounted the image onto it. I made the swirls with a Sizzix die cut 'Scribbles Swirls' out of the same card as the backing on the image. I then added a few flowers from my stash, and voila - there you have it. I'm thinking I might have to add a bit of my 'new best friend' to them {aka Glamour Dust lol}, just to give them a bit of bling!

The above calendar is made the same was as above. This image is from Designs by Leere (from Stampavie) and is coloured with my Koh-i-noor pencils.

The above calendar is made the same way again. This image is from Flower Fairies and was a freebie stamp with a magazine {sorry - can't remember which one}, it is a great stamp and very detailed and is also coloured with my Koh-i-noor pencils.

The last one {also made same way as above - can hear an echoooo in the room} is another Sugar Nellie stamp from Funky Kits, coloured with my Promarkers.

I hope you like my calendars, and thanks for looking. Please leave a comment to let me know you paid a visit!

Thanx - luv n hugs

First Christmas Cards of 2010!

It's only about 3 months until my favourite time of year! Yes - Christmas is just around the corner and I can't wait. Robert is after an i-pod touch and Ross wants the contents of the Argos catalogue (well - the toy section anyway). I'd just like more Time - anyone know of a good shop that sells some?

I have managed to make 2 Christmas Cards so far, but am quite pleased with them. Guess which one I love the best!

The stamp is by Lily of the Valley - one of their new Teddy James stamps. He's such a cute wee bear, and I love that he's all tangled up in the tinsel.

He's coloured with my Koh-i-noors and Promarkers and there is about a ton of glitter and glamour-dust on him - all sparkly just like Christmas should be.

I added some glamour-dusty snowflakes and wee gems to the centres of them and a bit of snowflake ribbon the same colour as the backing paper.

Finally a wee sentiment from my stash of stamps and that's it! Quite a quick, simple card to make, but I think it looks great.

Next is the same teddy in more traditional Christmas Colours.
Again I have used my Koh-i-noor pencils and Promarkers to colour him.

I was originally going to colour the sentiment, but think it looks great just the way it is. I added a little bit of bling to the left hand side of the card to balance it a little.

Then I die-cut a Christmas Ornament, coloured it with my Promarkers and went a bit daft with the glamour-dust again! The ornament is hanging from the sentiment on silvery beaded thread, just to set it off.

I hope you like my first two Christmas cards, hopefully I will get the chance to make more.

I think I will enter the first card (as it is my favourtie) into two challenges (my first time doing this - ooooohhhh) as he is my favourite card - have I said that already LOL.
